Note: This Bible study is the continuation of a post at my other blog. Click on this link to get the post that goes with the study: Is Failure Inevitable?
How many years have you been struggling with this sin or bad
habit?
How many years (or weeks) have you been diligent about
applying truth to the lies that are fueling your habit?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how diligent have you been?
When you think of how long you’ve been renewing your mind
compared to how long you’ve had this problem, is it realistic to expect 100%
victory at this point? Why or why not?
How does God feel about you in the midst of your failure?
(Jeremiah 31:3, 20, Romans 8:1)
What would He like to do for you?
Psalm 3:3
Psalm 37:23-24
Psalm 91:2-4
Philippians 1:6
What would He like you
to do?
John 8:10-11
Romans 12:1-2
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Galatians 6:9
James 1:16-17
What sacrifices will you have to make to do what He wants
you to do?
What will you gain if you do what He wants you to do?

These are good scriptures. I'm actually teaching tomorrow about how we're made in the image of God. That's helpful to me to keep in mind. That helps me understand that God loves me because of who he's made me and not because of what I've done.
They also remind me that I don't have to be successful (or beautiful) in the world's eyes to be a beautiful work of art - His workmanship.
Thanks for the scripture. It was breathing truth into my life after a weekend of "failure" - when I kept listening to lies and it infiltrated into my relationship with my husband. Only through crying and laying down at His feet and reading His truth - did I get back up again.
That is so good to hear, CJ. I was going through the same thing over here last night with writing. Feeling the failure! And like you, crying, laying down at His feet, and letting Him fill me with truth. Only it took me a few hours of feeling sorry for myself before I finally turned to Him.
I don't think I've ever heard of a Bible study on failure. What a great message of encouragement you are sharing.
Thanks, Melanie.
